As the future of automobiles becomes increasingly electric, automakers are redefining what it means to make an EV. The all-new 2023 Toyota bZ4X, available to Centennial Toyota, shows Toyota’s commitment to quality and innovative electric SUVs.

How does the Toyota bZ4X compare to the 2023 Subaru Solterra, however? Let’s look at these two EVs to see what makes them different.

Electric Power

Both the 2023 Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra use fully-electric motors to generate power. The Toyota bZ4X uses an AC synchronous electric generator that delivers 201 horsepower and 196 lb-ft of torque. By contrast, the Subaru Solterra’s StarDrive® all-electric drivetrain generates 215 horsepower and 249 lb-ft of torque.

While the Subura Solterra motor is rated for more horsepower, the Toyota bZ4X has a leg up when it comes to fuel efficiency. With standard Eco and Normal drive modes and regenerative braking for on-the-fly energy conversion, Toyota’s latest electric SUV is both an efficient and powerful ride.

Seating Material

The 2023 Toyota bZ4X epitomizes comfort and convenience inside the cabin. Its standard fabric and SofTex®-trimmed seats give passengers the ultimate relaxation when sitting down, with available eight-way power seats in the front. By contrast, the 2023 Subaru Solterra features cloth upholstery in its seats.

Rear Cargo Space

Behind the back seats, the Toyota bZ4X has more cargo space. Toyota’s model features 27.7 cubic feet of room behind the rear seats, while the 2023 Subaru Solterra only has 23.8 cubic feet in the rear.
