Engines and Performance
The last model year of the Toyota Avalon — 2022 — features a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine that generates up to 301 horsepower. The 2023 Toyota Crown’s base model comes with a 2.5-liter hybrid four-cylinder engine. This gas and electric combination delivers up to 236 horsepower.
New for the Toyota Crown, however, is an available 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged hybrid engine. With this installed, the engine can generate up to 340 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque.
Changing Shape
Compared to the Toyota Avalon, the 2023 Toyota Crown features some changes in the exterior that sharpens up the body. The Toyota Crown ups the ground clearance to 5.8 inches, with larger wheels as well, measuring 19 x 7 inches in both the front and rear. Drivers will also notice the redesigned front grille, which has been redesigned with sharper angles for a more distinct look.
