The 2024 Toyota Prius is part of a legacy of eco-friendly innovation and continues to deliver today. Along with many other Toyota models in the lineup, it was just named the Greenest Car in 2024 by The American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE). Visit Centennial Toyota to learn what makes the 2024 Toyota Prius the perfect vehicle for environmentally friendly driving.

What Makes the 2024 Toyota Prius the Greenest Car for 2024?

The Greener Cars list by the ACEEE looks beyond simple fuel efficiency numbers to determine exactly how “green” a car really is. They use a lifecycle assessment of the vehicle’s production, use, and disposal to measure the entire environmental impact of vehicle ownership. They also account for the impact of electricity use, emissions created during mining, and emissions produced during manufacturing.

With all that in mind, the ACEEE named the 2024 Toyota Prius the Greenest Car of 2024. It received a green score of 71, the highest across the industry, and has an impressively low estimated annual fuel cost of just $529 for a yearly average of 15,000 miles of driving. On average, the vehicles on the Greenest List had fuel costs of just one-fifth of those on the Meanest List of most environmentally impactful vehicles.

Which Other Toyota Vehicles Made the List?

The Greenest List is comprised of EVs and PHEVs and includes the Toyota Prius, Toyota bZ4X, Toyota RAV4 Prime, and Toyota Corolla, meaning Toyota made up one-third of the most eco-friendly vehicles for 2024. If you don’t have access to charging, you don’t have to worry, however. The Greener Choice List is made up of internal combustion engine vehicles with low impacts and includes the Toyota Sienna and Toyota Highlander.
